Poised Paris …

What to expect: World-famous landmarks & museums, eating buttery croissants & strolling through Seine river.

While we were planning our Europe trip we were deciding on places and we could not miss Paris for sure. Though we did not have a lot of time to spend we included 2 days at this beautiful destination. I would definitely go back here and cover everything that I could not in my first trip.

Day 1– Travel from Amsterdam to Paris, Musée du Louvre, Seine river cruise, Eiffel tower night view, Pont des Arts (lock bridge), fancy dinner.

We took a Thalys train from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Paris, France, checked in to our hotel https://www.hotel-mistral-paris.com/en/ to freshen up and left for the Lourve Museum.

After this we went for our 1 hr Seine river cruise ride. On this cruise you can see the Assemblee Nationale, Musee d’Orsay, Institut de France, Pantheon, Cite de la Mode, Hotel de Ville, Notre Dame, Conciergerie, and more. After the river cruise we visited the Pont des Arts aka the famous lock bridge.

We then enjoyed an authentic French cuisine dinner and headed to the Eiffel tower. The Tower lights and beacon are lit up every evening from dusk until one o’clock in the morning. As soon as it gets dark, the Eiffel Tower’s golden lighting switches on automatically within less than 10 minutes. This was one of the most spectacular view of the Eifffel Tower.

Day 2– Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Arc de triomphe, Champs-Élysées

The next morning we got up early and went to the top of Eiffel Tower (Summit access with elevator). You can choose the elevator access to save some time. The views from the top are breathtaking.

After this we visited the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris. Since we visited in 2014 we were lucky to experience this beautiful church before the fire damage in 2019.

Once we were done with these famous and definite must haves off our checklist we visited Arc de triomphe and Champs-Élysées. We had a good stroll on the Champs-Élysées and enjoyed some shopping and french food.

Though this was a very quick stop at this amazing destination, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When working full time travel is not always easy and sometimes we do need to try and make the most of the limited time we get to travel. If given a choice I would definitely spend a good 1 week at Paris. Hopefully next time 😉
